Hola familia,
Sounds like a fun week this week. Hopefully all goes well with getting ready for school and work and everything. I´m leaving Quilmes. My new area is called 9 de Abril B, and it´s in the city of Monte Grande (more west). My new companion´s name is Elder Fernandez-Paz, and he only has 6 weeks in the mission. He´s really going to Mexico for his mission, but he´s waiting for his visa because he had problems getting it. So he could be leaving at any time he gets his visa it looks like. He´s from Uruguay, and doesn´t speak English, so we´ll try to get back into the Spanish mode. He seems pretty cool. It´s hard to leave Quilmes after having been there so long, but I know I´ve been called to where I need to be.
This week we had a miracle with Luis. We had his baptism Saturday! This week we were going to do everything we could to help Luis´s mom support his decision. But when we got to his house on Tuesday, he had already born his testimony to her and she had been convinced that he was ready to be baptized. She signed the forms giving him permission to be baptized, and we scheduled the interview the next day. We had the baptism and it was awesome! His mom was able to come also, and hopefully the experience will help her change and follow Christ more in her life as well. Luis is very excited, and wants to serve a mission. He´s going to go with Elder Pratley and his companion this week to accompany them in lessons, something that´s hard to do for members that have even been members for a long time, but he´s really excited. I´ve never seen anyone change as much as Luis changed. He did a complete 180, and he did it through prayer and faith, and because he was able to know that the Book of Mormon is true and it has changed his life. It was hard to have to leave, but it was a blessing to be able to be there for when he was baptized.
We also had an awesome experience with a new investigator named Carolina that is 18 years old. We had been teaching her mom the last couple of weeks, and she had kind of avoided us. But one day we asked the mom to go and get her to see if she wanted to learn a little more with us. She came, and we talked about the Book of Mormon and we were actually able to commit her and her mother to baptism for the end of this month, the first time we met her. And yesterday she came to church alone, because her mom couldn´t make it, and she loved it, and got up and bore her testimony. She said that she had been avoiding us, but the day we invited her to read the Book of Mormon she was bored, and felt like she should try to read the book, so she did. And she bore her testimony that she felt a complete peace come over her, and she prayed after and knew that it was true and that she wanted to be baptized and that she felt the spirit in church. It was her first time in church, and she gave one of the strongest testimonies I´ve ever heard. All the members were really excited and were all talking to her after sacrament meeting. It was really good. I won´t be there for her baptism, but I know that the step of baptism is the most important thing she could do right now in this time in her life.
We had a really good week and it will be hard to go, but I´m excited for the new area and my new companion. I don´t know how long I´ll be with him, but I know everything will go the way the Lord wants it to. I saw so many people´s lives change so much in Quilmes, that I´m full of excitement for all of them to continue on the right path, but sad to have to leave. But it will all be good.

Hola familia,
That sounds like an awesome weekend. (We went to the Days of 47 Rodeo on Friday and boating at Utah Lake on Saturday.) That´s awesome that Christi got up wakeboarding and slalom skiing. We´re just missing Mikayla now.
I don´t have a lot of time today. We went and played basketball today in a wood court. I hadn´t played basketball since I left the MTC. It was awesome. But then I missed the bus, took another bus to the wrong place, and a train full of people all shut the doors on us so we couldn´t get on. So now we´re kind of behind, but we had a really good week and found some awesome people.
We had our first interviews with President on Wednesday, and they went really well. This is the last week of the transfer so next time I write I'll know if I will still be in Quilmes or not. I´ve been here for quite awhile, so it´s possible I'll go, but also a possibility I will stay. But I know I´ll be where the Lord wants me to be with the companion he wants me to be with.
We´re praying to be able to baptize Luis this week. I think I wrote about him quite a while ago. He´s fifteen and his mom wouldn't authorize him to be baptized. But he´s so ready, and he´s been coming every week and we had a baptismal date set for this Friday. So we´re doing all we can to help him feel prepared, but mostly that his mom can feel the importance of supporting her son in this decision. He´s prayed and knows that the church is true, and he has friends in the ward. We just need his mom to realize the importance this ordinance has in his life.
Well, I´ll talk to you guys next week, and I hope all goes well with the new job and everything that´s going on.
