Hello familia,
Sounds like a fun weekend. All the kids look a lot different. Kendrick and Jensen are both completey different already. Kendrick looks alot like Brennan, at least in those pictures. It sounds like school ended well for Christi. That´s awesome that I got a scholarship, but it´s too bad I didn´t keep my full tuition scholarship. I probably lost it for the A- in Calculus in the spring; bummer. But half will still be a good help.
This week was a lot of walking and a lot of doing contacts and looking for new people to teach. But on Saturday we were able to start teaching Marta´s sister, Noemi, and her daughter María Luz, and her boyfriend Raul. They were one of the families that came to Marta´s baptism last week, and we went and taught them with Hno. Chalupa and it went really well. María Luz is eleven and she loved the baptism, and had actually borrowed Marta´s Book of Mormon and had already read quite a few chapters. Noemi has thyroid cancer, but she smokes like more than 2 packs a day, so that couldn´t be helping a ton. With all of the problems she´s been through she´s had lots of doubts if God really exists, but she felt good in the baptism, and is willing to read and pray to know for herself. We still weren´t able to sit down and teach with Marta´s son Maxi, but he´s really promising too. He just works from 7 in the morning until 7, that´s the main problem, but hopefully we can him home one night this week.
Marta´s doing really well this week. She was confirmed yesterday, and she gets along really well with all the members, and she´s already invited her sister and her family over to her house to have a family home evening. She's had lots of excitement to invite her friends and family to the church, so hopefully we can use all of that energy to find new people to teach, and also to help stay active and in the path. I know that God really does prepare the way for his children to receive the restored gospel, and to receive the corresponding blessings in their lives.

Hello familia,
That´s awesome about Mikayla´s basketball team (Mikayla is playing in the Spring Fling for Riverton High School. They won their first 4 games.) That´ll get them started off on a good page for JV and Varsity. Too bad Easter break is all spread out and different for everyone, but it sounds like it should be fun. It´s always good to have a break.
Yesterday was Marta´s baptism, and it went really well. She invited all of her family: her parents, her brothers and sisters, and her son Maxi was able to get off work to come. It was really awesome! There were 13 non-members at the baptismal service and it was probably one of the most spriritual baptismal services I´ve been to. It was cool, because one of the relatives of Marta that came is an older ornery man that I had actually contacted a little over a month ago, and he had rejected me pretty hard. But when he walked in he said, "I guess you win. You got me in your church after all." So that was good. We´ll see if the baptism won´t soften him up a little bit, and hopefully we´ll be able to start teaching him and his family. (I think he´s living with Marta´s mom.) The ward was really excited to finally have a baptism, and they all support Marta alot. She´s awesome! I have pictures, but this computer doesn´t have USB ports, so I´ll have to send them next week.
We also found Keiko and Salma this week, that are daughters of a less active member named Fiorella. They were also able to bring a friend too, so that was really good. Keiko is 15 and Salma is 11, and Salma´s friend´s name is Agustina. Hopefully we´ll be able to find her family this week. Keiko and Salma go to Catholic mass every Sunday, and we haven´t really been able to figure out why, because the mom isn´t Catholic. They had baptismal dates about a year ago, and then they just stopped listening to the missionaries and they actually got baptized in the Catholic church. So, there´s something that we´re missing, and they're hesitant to commit to baptism, but hopefully tonight when we teach them we can have the gift of discernment and figure out how to help them make it to baptism.
It´s starting to get a little chillier at night and in the mornings now. We´ve made it to fall, but it´s not getting too cold yet.

Hello Family,
That´s crazy it´s still snowing and being cold up there this late in the year. I guess it´ll be better to have lots of water versus drought, as long as it doesn´t flood (anything in excess is bad, apparently). Sounds like everything is still busy with basketball and everything. That´s cool that you guys were able to go to the spring scrimmage (BYU's Blue and White game last Saturday). Sounds like everyone´s getting a lot more into football and everything than before. This season will be fun to get back into the football mode. Sounds like Christi is busy too, getting ready for finals and everything. Hopefully everything goes well with my scholarship. It was kind of a hard thing to find online when I applied too; it was kind of hidden; little buggers.
On Monday and Tuesday we couldn´t get a hold of Marta, and we were afraid we were going to lose her somehow, but we found her Wednesday and had a very awesome lesson. After attending the session of Conference, Marta felt very strongly that President Monson is a prophet. The messages really touched her, but she felt like she wasn´t really doing her part in order to really accept the gospel and to make the step of baptism. She still hadn´t attended church on a Sunday, and she just realized how important of a blessing the gospel is and that she didn´t really realize that before. We were able to testify to her that we have really felt all these blessings in our lives and if she does her part she will have these blessings for her and her family. Then on Sunday, she came to church! And it was really awesome! All of the members greeted her. She was able to talk with the Bishop and meet him, and the Relief Society and all the members. The ward was really excited! We´re finally going to have a baptism in the Plata, for the fist time since last June! Her baptism is going to be this Sunday, and quite a few of her friends and family are going to come, so it will be a really good opportunity to find new people to teach also! Then, when we visited her Sunday with Hermano Chalupa (the guy with the cool name(: ), she talked about all of the changes she´s felt and seen in her life since we clapped her house. She is very prepared. The baptism is going to be a wonderful experience Sunday, and really a miracle that we´ve been praying for for a long time. We hope to be able to find a lot more people this week to teach so that we can help the ward get more consistent and meet the mission goal that every area baptizes every month.
I know that the gospel of Jesus Christ blesses every one of God´s children and that this really is his work. I love you guys and I´ll talk to you next week.
PS- I didn´t forget get Dad´s birthday; I just decided I wanted to write happy birthday this week.) Happy Birthday Dad!!

Hola familia,
I saw Sunday during conference that it had snowed, and it looked awfully cold for an April Sunday, but it sounds like everyone had a good weekend. Is Mikayla going to play for the freshman team at Riverton, or is she doing a basketball camp or something there? To me I still think she´s in 7th grade, but I think that was actually quite a while ago. I don´t even know what´s going on. That´s awesome about
Jimmer too, hopefully he´ll be able to turn it all into a good career in the NBA.
The schedule for classes sounds pretty good for a start, and then we can change a couple of things later if we need too. (We just registered David for 2011 Fall Classes at BYU). We´ll see if I can get my brain turned back on for the first semester. Did you find out about the scholarship and if there´s any way I can still have it for this semester, because I was eligible when I left? I don´t know if you have to reapply or what.
This week we had a pretty good week, but it´s still been a struggle to find our investigators when they say they´re going to be there. Even with Marta it´s been kind of hit and miss, but she came to conference Saturday morning (1:00 in the afternoon here). So that was really awesome. But there weren´t really any members from our ward there to meet her because most of the members in our ward have computers and internet so they would watch it in home, something that not a lot of people had in my other areas. So, it was awesome that she got to hear from the prophet and the apostles, but she still hasn´t really met anyone in the ward. The two times that we brought members with us to teach her, she ended up standing us up; so there´s some keeping commitment issues that hopefully we can help her solve so she can make it to baptism. She didn´t make it to conference Sunday like she said so was going to, but we´re going to go teach her today, like in a half hour, so hopefully everything goes well. Her baptismal date is for this Sunday but it´s looking like we´re going to have to move it back a week so she can keep all of the commitments necessary for baptism.
We never could teach Monica and Hector, the investigators that Elder Jardine found last week. It seems like they might be avoiding us. But one of the times we passed by to try and find them, we went with the ward missionary leader Ramiro Chalupa (I love his last name, that´s why I included it), and they weren´t there but we were able to go in and teach one of their daughters that is named Maria, that´s like 23 years old more or less. We had a really good lesson with her and she said that she really felt a peace when we spoke and she was really excited to read the Book of Mormon, so we commited her to be baptized and she said yes! We set a date for her baptism the 16th of April, but we found out right after when we were talking with her that she´s living with her boyfriend and her 7 year old daughter. So hopefully we can start teaching her boyfriend too and help them understand the importance of the family and the difference the gospel can make in the home when we abide by it´s principles.
Conference was really good, but I didn´t see the second Saturday session or priesthood. We didn't see the second Saturday session because all of the people we passed by to get ended up not being there so we didn´t have any investigators there. We missed the priesthood session because it starts at 9 o´clock at night so we´re not allowed to attend. I really liked a talk yesterday in the last session by a member of the seventy (I can´t really remember his name, but I think his first name was Glen) about the difference between to be and to do. I know that really I things we do in order to be more like our saviour Jesus Christ. What we are, and who we become, is not defined by everything we do or the mistakes we make, but with the decisions we make and the ordinances and covenants we do and make that bring us to be more like Christ and to be who we want to be eternally. I know that here on the mission everything I do should be to help other people to come more unto Christ and be more like him, and in this process I also can become more like Him. I wanted to leave you my testimony that I know this church is true and that Jesus Christ is our Saviour. And I know that one day we will be able to have eternal families because of His Atonement and love for us and that we will be able to be more like him as we repent and improve our time here in this life. I love you guys a ton , and I want to thank you for all your examples to me. I never really realized how many blessings I had, or what an awesome family I had always had, until I had to experience life a little out in the world on my own. But I know that here is where I need to be right now, and I hope that I can always continue to do my very best until the end.
