Hey familia,
This week has been really cold, and it´s been raining straight for 2 1/2 days. So we´re not having the same weather down here that you guys are experiencing, it seems.
We had Ivan´s baptism Friday and it went really well. The water was quite cold, but it was a really good experience. His dad was able to get prepared and was able to baptize him. I realized during this experience how simple and beautiful is the covenant of baptism; that our father loves us so much that he has promised to give to us the Holy Ghost whenever we strive to keep the commandments and remember Jesus Christ in our lives. And that we have the blessing of being able to be cleaned and washed from our sins and mistakes when we enter the waters of baptism. I know that really baptism is the way that we enter into the path of God, and the way we can receive all the blessings that He has for us.
I got a letter from Aunt Betty and Uncle Allen this week, and it was a really nice letter. Hopefully everything's going well with their health. How are Grandma and Grandpa Coats?
I received the package too on Wednesday when we had our first zone conference with President Stapley. Thank you for all the goodies. American candy can´t really be beat. Our meeting with President and his wife went really well. They´re really nice, but we´re going to be having a lot less zone conferences and interviews like Grandma Wood said. But it should all be good. President´s spanish is quite good, but he´s still learning a lot.
That´s crazy everyone´s getting married in our ward, and that everyone´s having babies. Lots of things are going to be a little different when I get back it looks like.
We found some more good people this week; not as many came to church as we would have liked with all the rain and cold, but we have a couple families that are really progressing.
It sounds like everyone´s been having a good summer. I hope everything goes well preparing for the new school year and everything. I guess I´ll talk to you guys again next week.

Hola familia,
Sounds like everything is really busy over there. Sounds like summer fun. That´s crazy to know that Christi´s getting ready to go off to college. It´s weird. It´s still quite cold here, but what can you do?
This Friday we had Liliana´s baptism and it went really well. It was a really good experience. Ivan´s baptism was going to be Sunday, but his little baby sister got sick, so they had to take her to the hospital and couldn´t make it to church, so we´ll have his baptism this week.
That´s good to hear about Keaton and Josh, and all the other missionaries coming and going. I´m glad Keaton was able to get ready to leave on a mission. What´s Matt Laraway doing? (Josh Maxwell is from our old ward. He went to the Buenos Aires West Mission and reported his mission on Sunday. Keaton Hansen is our neighbor, and David's good friend. He is leaving for Anchorage, Alaska.)
President Stapely and his wife have arrived here in Buenos Aires. We´ll meet them this Wednesday for zone conference. It´ll be really good. We found some really good people to teach this week, but not as many as we would´ve liked. This week we talked to a lot of people and received a lot of no's. But I know that we´re here for the right reason, and that if we keep striving to be obedient and to talk to everyone we see, we will find those that have been prepared to receive the gospel.
I didn´t get the package yet, but it´s been a long time since we´ve been to the offices. Wednseday we should get it. My memory card got messed up, so I don´t have the picture of the baptism today, but I´ll send them next week.

Hola familia,
I´m glad Derek´s okay. Sounds like a bad crash, but with how fast he was going it sounds like he was super blessed to not get hurt. (Derek was driving his four wheeler down from Maple Hollow and the tire fell off and he was thrown into the scrub brush. He was very blessed to come away from it without any injuries.) Sounds like a fun 4th of July though, minus all the crashes and mishaps.
We had a good week. The baptism of Liliana fell through again, but we´re having the baptism Friday and another 9 year old son of members Sunday, so we pray that everything will go well this week with the 2 baptisms. Liliana´s parents both ended up having to work Sunday, so we had to postpone the baptism, but everything's going to work out this week. We found an awesome new family from Bolivia this week, and we have baptismal dates with the mom, and with the daughter for the 30th of July. Hopefully we can help the rest of the family work towards baptism too.
The whole country was in depression Saturday and Sunday after the game. They hate Germans and the English, so the first couple of days, we got yelled at a couple of times because people think we´re Germans. But now everything's gone back to normal. But no one talks about the game. It was a very disappointing, emotional loss for everyone, they got slaughtered. In the last world cup Germany beat them, and has also had some other really big wins over Argentina in the world cup like dad said. But everything´s good now.
President Asay left last week, but the new president and his wife aren´t going to be able to get here until Thursday because his visa hasn´t arrived. So the new senior missionary is the acting president until he gets here.
So, hope that everything goes well with all of you guys this week, and I guess I´ll talk to you next week. This week I didn´t write until today because we had a zone activity and we went to the zoo in the capital, and it was pretty fun. It´s a pretty big zoo.
